Congratulations to the City of Columbus for winning the Department of Transportation Smart City Challenge which includes a $50 million in grant funding from the Department of Transportation and Vulcan Inc. to develop the city into a test track for intelligent transportation systems. Columbus was one of seven finalists for the award (and 78 original applicants), beating out San Francisco, Austin, Portland, Kansas City, Denver and Pittsburgh. Clean Fuels Ohio Staff (special shout out to Sam, Andrew, Matt, Nolan, and Brian) worked tirelessly to help create the electric vehicle portion of the grant which includes the $10 million in Vulcan funding.
