The City of Chula Vista is expanding their use of electric vehicles. The city is doubling their EV fleet by purchasing 14 battery electric vehicles and and 20 plug-in hybrids.

Fiat Chrysler Automotive (FCA) has reached reached final settlements on civil, environmental and consumer claims with US federal and state agencies as well as private class actions to resolve differences over diesel emissions requirements. The settlement includes free software upgrades, cash payments to vehicle owners and $400 million in penalties to governmental agencies, totaling $800 million.

Volkswagen electric vehicles are coming to the US and will be built in Tennessee. The company is investing $800 million to build two vehicles in its Chattanooga plant.

Exxon and Shell are looking at getting into the electric vehicle business through charging stations. They are investigating providing places where EV owners can charge up.
